July Recap & Awesome Pictures!

Posted by Jaicee

So July has gone by pretty fast! Between getting settled in and Jordan being gone for a week, I can hardly believe July's almost over. It's going to be weird for us when we get to the end of August and school doesn't start! It's the first time in, well, a long time that we haven't started a fall semester!

So to catch up a little...

A few weeks ago, Jordan went down to Dallas for his Sherwin-Williams advanced manager week-long training. Here are a few pictures from his trip he took on his cell phone:

View from his hotel--very very flat! Apparently the city center is hidden behind that white building. He was kind of bummed to not see it from his room.

So this is about how exciting it was: powerpoints, lectures, powerpoints. He did make a few friends and was able to have a few gospel discussions with some of the others there. I'm so proud of him for not being afraid to talk about the gospel with people! I wish I could be brave like him!

He did, however get to tour the paint factory, which he said was very cool, like being in an episode of "How's It Made?" He said that the day he was there, the factory produced it's billionth gallon of paint. There's a cause for you to celebrate! He also got to use some Sherwin-Williams paints and get a little practice with different commercial spray equipment. (This is a big vacuum spray booth.)

Meanwhile, back at the ranch... what did we do while daddy was gone?
These are probably the most hilarious pictures of Norah we have ever taken! Notice she hasn't touched the paper... there's more interesting things to do with a crayon than color with it.

Yesterday was Jordan's day off, so we decided to play (something we haven't done much of since we got here). Our apartment complex has a swimming area with a hot tub, a kiddie wading pool, and a larger pool with a sweet waterfall along one side. It's great! We need to take advantage of it more often.

So here's us in the kiddie pool: (if you would like to feel better about your own farmer's tan, please continue on)

Naivie really liked to wear the goggles and wore them most of the time.

Norah took her turn with the goggles, but only for a second.

Here's a part of the waterfall, it was fun to play behind!

Norah got tired and decided to be a sunbathing beauty for a while...

The girls had fun jumping into the water over and over and over again:

Speaking of being not photogenic, here's one for Jill:

We had lots of fun hanging out in the pool! And despite our sunblock efforts, we all got a little toasted on our heads and faces. Oh, summer, it's a great time!

Ha ha, I LOVE the photogenic picture, but I think mine are worse. And I'm pretty sure my farmer's tan is MUCH worse. By the way, I wonder why it is called a farmers tan. I think it would be more realistic if it were called a Mormon tan.
