The Long Drought is Over! (Hopefully)

Posted by Jaicee

We know, we know... it's been a long time since we've informed the world of the comings and goings within the Jordan Knutson household. We hope this hasn't caused anyone undo stress or great concern. There may be a few cases of "Knutson Korner withdrawl" and for that we do sincerely apologize.  But there is cause for rejoicing because we have decided to once again post on our blog!

Last weekend, because of the WONDERFUL weather, we took the opportunity to BARBECUE!

Kabobs were the items on the menu on Friday evening.  They were DELICIOUS!  We all enjoyed a gorgeous evening in the backyard with the heavenly aromas of cut grass, sunshine, charcoals, and grilling meat!  I want a candle that smells just like that.

Everything went well until the cat. She's a very friendly feline who has really taken to the girls. She has no objections to letting Naivie carry her around everywhere.  And she keeps the nasty voles down so I give her table scraps when I have them, especially chicken bones, and she has basically become our pet. Catherine is her name now, and the girls LOVE her. Most of the time we like her around, but on Friday she certainly made Daddy mad...

...by tipping over the grill and dumping his last kabob into the dirt.  Luckily she sensed she had made a fatal mistake and dove for cover under the table, then ran for her life!  If she hadn't, she certainly would have died that day!

The next day was Smithfield Health Days (which doesn't sound exciting... I was afraid they'd throw sugar-free candy in the parade)

But we never miss a chance to see a parade!

And we had lots of fun!  It was a good parade.

Afterward, there were vendors and music and rides at the fairgrounds and we took the girls to have a little fun! They loved it!

This is just the beginning of a fun-filled summer, and I say WE ARE READY!!!

It would have been justice if a hot smoldering charcoal would have caught her tail and whiskers on fire. Stupid cat. She's lucky my foot didn't catch her.

P.S. I'm sorry for losing my temper like that over a kabob.
